Happy Valentine’s Day! February 14, 2010
Aside from it being Valentine’s Day, lately I have been pondering the deepness and the vastness of Christ’s love for us. His love amazes me and more and more. He relentlessly pursues our hearts and wants to know Him in a real and personal way–He wants us. Deuteronomy 4:24 says “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a JEALOUS God.” He wants you. He is jealous for your love. The way we can personally know Him astounds me and we can never experience such a love outside of a relationship with Christ. Ahh! I love Him!

At church Wednesday night, we talked about all of the countries where it’s illegal to be a Christian. There are so many countries where the number of Christians is from 0.01% to about 2% of the population. You can see these countries in the map above and these are countries are where most of the worlds population resides. These nations need our prayer & the missionaries that are risking everything to be there and share Christ’s love. Please take time to pray.

This weekend is the Evening of Entertainment at the Durham Preforming Arts Center (DPAC) and we have been having many practices to learn the music. This coming weekend, I will be there from pretty much 3:45 pm on Thursday to about 9 pm on Saturday–with the exception of coming home to sleep.

Thanks to the Battens, my dad & I got to go to the UNC Alumni game Friday night. Needless to say, watching men who played for Carolina in 1940 play against each other is QUITE entertaining

Nevermind February 9, 2010
I officially am not putting any limits on this blog–there will be a picture everyday, but it’s going to be random. Getting a word everyday didn’t work out so well
. So there may be a word, there may not. We’ll just see where this goes!

For the Superbowl (Go Saints!), my brother & Tera came over to our house and brought their dog, Bailey. Ain’t she cute?

Carly & I did nursery at church last night for Ladies First Tuesday and had some fun taking pictures afterwards

I had a long overdue Starbucks visit and it happened today.
New Direction February 6, 2010
This week I have discovered that taking a picture everyday is hard. The times when I want to take a picture, I either don’t have my camera or the funny moment has already passed. Quite honestly, it’s just frustrating. I don’t want to pull my camera out and take a picture of everything–and I’m only three weeks into this thing. But I’m not quitting, I’m simply taking Project 365 in a new direction. Every day, instead of trying to capture moments, I’m going here and retrieving a random word to take a picture of. For instance, if I get the word terrible, my goal for the day will be to capture something terrible. This will get my creative juices flowing and eliminate the frustration of struggling to find a picture to take. Plus, my vocabulary shall be E X P A N D E D.
So, today’s word is: REGERMINATIVE
Funny word, huh?
Definition: capable of germinating, developing, or creating; of or pertaining to germination
Though not technically able to germinate, water does the possess the ability to create. Pretty much everything we eat & drink involves water. Water creates tea and that’s important because tea is GOOD. Therefore, water is regermintative.

I discovered Picasa (hence the collage above) and have had a lot of fun discovering all of the features–you should give it a try. It’s free & very useful for editing your photos!
Lots of White February 1, 2010
It’s no big revelation to anyone that it snowed like crazy Friday & Saturday and it was really exciting to wake up and see about 7 inches of snow blanketing the ground. As much fun as all of this snow is, I am about bored out of my mind. I don’t like sitting around for a couple of hours, so sitting around for the past 3 days has about driven me crazy. We finally went out today, but not for too long. To occupy my time I have watched a bunch of movies, walked around in the snow, played the piano, facebooked, read, watched TV, played the Wii, and learned Twinkle Twinkle Little Star backwards (notes & everything). If you haven’t caught on by now, I am out of my mind bored (and there is not school tomorrow either)!

Welcome Home Bed! January 28, 2010
1/27/10
This planner is full of empty days which means I haven’t had hardly any homework this semester and things look as if they are going to stay that way — a major change from last semester and a big relief!
1/28/10
As most of you know, my brother & his wife moved in with us about 9 months ago so my brother could go to seminary. When they moved in, I gave up my big queen bed and put a single so that I could have more room since they were living in the bonus room. They bought a house over Thanksgiving and so I’ve been waiting for a while to get my bed back in my room. It was a lot of fun having them here, but I really missed my bed and I am oh-so-happy to have it back! I missed my big bed
Just hangin’ out on the mattresses while my dad was putting together the bed for the bonus room.
It doesn’t look too neat right now, but I didn’t feel like doing that tonight, I’m just glad to have it back!
Need a Styrofoam Cup? January 26, 2010
1/25/10
Yesterday, I got my haircut (specifically my bangs) and just hung out at my house since it was a teacher workday. The week before had been really busy, so it was good to relax. While at my house, I started a new book and I’m really excited about it, even though that sounds nerdy

The new semester started today, but I kept two of my classes from the last semester (Calculus & Chorus). I picked up AP environmental science & Spanish II and they will be alright. But, to explain this picture, at my house we use a lot of styrofoam cups. So, today when I went to Sam’s with my dad, we bought a huge thing of 500 cups and it made me laugh. Usually people buy these cups for an event, but we just buy them for our house. Nothing unusual there at all.
Free Chick-fil-A Milkshakes & Good Movies January 24, 2010
1/23/10
Yesterday, Katy & I went shopping at Southpoint and got some killer deals at Old Navy. After that we went and picked up Dillon to go get milkshakes and he had free coupons so we got FREE milkshakes. It made my day. Then, we headed over to Morgan’s to “tip-toe across the window” and ended up going door to door to collect money for Haiti and made plans to start a change drive at Northern & Riverside through FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes) . All in all, it was a good day.
P.S. Dillon thought taking a picture everyday was stupid. Today, I found out he started a blog and is doing the same thing.

After church tonight, several of us went to Cook-out & Blockbuster and then back to church to hang out and watch a movie. Post Grad –the movie–turned out to be really good and funny!

My dad and I made our first college visit for an official tour on Thursday to UNC. I liked it a lot, but of course, that’s a given
. It was very cold and slightly misty as we walked around with our tour guide, who also is a belly-dancer, but other than that, I really enjoyed it and am excited to visit more colleges. As of right now, I am also planning to tour Appalachain and Gardner-Webb.

Tonight, we went to eat at the Eno River Eatery and if you have ever been there, you know they have painted rocks lining all of the window seals. This rock in particular made me laugh
